Annual Membership Meeting/October Board Meeting

As Major League Baseball is finishing a record-setting regular season, Carmel Youth Baseball is beginning to start the planning for our upcoming 2019 Spring baseball season. October 2nd is our annual Board meeting where we:

  • Invite any families who participated in the 2018 baseball season to attend.
  • Welcome any participants to make comments and/or suggestions.
  • Make decisions about who will be filling various Board positions for 2018.
  • Start the planning for our upcoming season.

Information about the time and location for this meeting is below and on our website.

Board Volunteers Needed

People volunteer in their communities for many different reasons: to make a difference, to give back, to strengthen their community or just because it feels right. Our league is a volunteer run operation, from the coaches to the scorekeepers to the website. Our registration process will identify how parents can volunteer to help coach teams, or serve as scorekeepers or help out in our amazing snack bars. But we want to alert everyone to some leadership slots we know will be vacant on the Carmel Youth Baseball Board. We are asking for volunteers to step forward and help make this coming year as memorable as those past.  Without a staffed and functioning Board, the League would simply not exist, so we need your help for the upcoming season. Known vacancies are:

  • Treasurer - to help keep track of costs and revenue, make deposits and pay bills/invoices

  • Secretary - to help plan for monthly Board meetings and record actions and decisions

  • Communications/Web - to organize and disseminate league-wide messages, keep up the CUYB website and social media

  • Registration - to work with our vendor to register players and their families

  • Sponsorship – Reach out to local business and organizations to obtain a sponsor for each of our teams.

  • Volunteers - to help organize volunteers for baseball activities, such as snack bar

  • Snack Bars (one for Dampierre, one for Larson) - to help organize, staff and stock the two snack bars; one volunteer or two

Other roles that we are looking for that are not necessarily Board positions, but are very important to the league are:

  • Uniform Coordinator – to work with our vendor in ordering regular season as well as All Star uniforms.

  • Spiritwear Coordinator – to work with our vendor in ordering and selling Carmel Youth Baseball spiritwear for the season.

If you know you are interested, or know of someone who might be, please reach out to Bill Douros or John Lockwood. If you think you'd like to help out this coming year but are unsure of where your interests lie, please attend the meeting and learn more about Carmel Youth Baseball and where your skills could fit in.

We generally meet once a month, and your role would be from October 2017 to October 2018. Serving on the Board meets your volunteer requirements for the League.

Thank you again for your interest in Carmel Youth Baseball and this great sport, America's pastime.
