Carmel Youth Baseball is required by law to have all volunteer coaches obtain a live scan background check and complete coaches trainings.

You will not be able to Coach until all the following are complete and submitted to CYB:


1) Live Scan Background Check

The State of California requires coaches to complete a live scan background check.

If you have previously obtained a live scan background check through CYB, you will not have to do it again. 
If you have not done a live scan background check through CYB but for another organization, you will still need to complete the process for CYB.

2) NAYS Training Certification Requirements (3 trainings)

a. NAYS Coach Certification- Youth Baseball

NEW COACHES that have not been NAYS Certified - CLICK HERE to register for an account.
- Complete the NAYS Coach Certification.
- Be sure to select CARMEL YOUTH BASEBALL as your group so that your registration can be verified.

RETURNING COACHES that need to renew their NAYS Certification - CLICK HERE to login.
- Click on "My Account" at the top right corner, then select Memberships & Certificates.
- Renew your certification if it has expired.

b. NAYS Concussion Training

NEW COACHES
- If this is your first time taking Concussion and Cardiant Arrest Training, CLICK HERE to login or register for an account.
- Click on "Trainings & Memberships" from the top navigation and select "All NAYS Training".
- Scroll down to select Concussion Training.

RETURNING COACHES
- If you are refreshing your Training, CLICK HERE to login and click on "My Account".
- Click on "My Training" and select "My Training Portal".
- Find your previously completed training, and click "Go To Training".

c. NAYS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training

NEW COACHES
- If this is your first time taking Concussion and Cardiant Arrest Training, CLICK HERE to login or register for an account.
- Click on "Trainings & Memberships" from the top navigation and select "All NAYS Training"
- Scroll down to select Sudden Arrest Training

RETURNING COACHES
- If you are refreshing your Training, CLICK HERE to login and click on "My Account".
- Click on "My Training" and select "My Training Portal".
- Find your previously completed training, and click "Go To Training".
